(Hamlet, Act 3, Scene 1)

In this week, join a professional teaching artist and an outstanding group of young people to explore Shakespeare's Hamlet in MSTYP's 2026 Youth Residency.

Join us at Elsinore Castle for a tale of revenge, grief, and the search for truth. Throughout the week, you’ll delve into the play’s world, characters, and timeless themes of power, loyalty, moral conflict and of course...unpack the fate of Ophelia.

Then, you’ll bring it to life on stage!

The residency culminates in a 1-hour performance of key scenes from Hamlet for an audience of friends and family at the end of the week.

Hamlet is one of Shakespeare’s most powerful tragedies and continues to be studied in the NSW English Syllabus.

Workshop Details:

Age Group: 13-18 years old in 2026

Dates: Monday 12th January - Friday 16th January 2026

Time: Monday - Thursday: 1pm-5pm, Friday: 1pm-approximately 7:30pm*

*Students are to bring dinner and stay at the venue for a break between the workshop and performance on the Friday.

Venue: Living Hope Anglican, Killara. (Main Hall) 9B Arnold Street, Killara.

FAQ’s

Do I have to book for the whole week?

Yes – students are working towards a performance on the last day, so they need attend the full week to create and rehearse for the performance.

If you are missing only one day, you are welcome to book for the workshop, however there is no discount for the missed day.
