Christmas Drama Day!

Love drama or want to try drama? Haven’t used your Creative Kids Voucher?

Do you need vacation care or need to finish the Christmas shopping? (Or wrap presents, or relax!)

Many kids who are interested in drama are often busy during the term time – it’s hard to fit in another class!

This workshop is an ideal way to enjoy drama and learn some new skills:

Students will spend the day with our experienced teaching artists to make a play with a Christmas theme. There will be a performance for families in the afternoon!

Skills we will build together

• Acting Skills: honing listening, reacting, and responding authentically to given circumstances
• Character Development: creating multi-dimensional characters, exploring backstory, motivation, voice, and physicality
• Storytelling & Dramatic Structure: understanding narrative arcs, pacing, and building engaging stories for performance
• Stagecraft & Spatial Awareness: exploring stage presence, movement, and positioning within a performance space
• Collaboration & Ensemble Work: working cohesively with peers, problem-solving as a team, and contributing to ensemble storytelling
• Vocal Techniques: building and refining projection, articulation, diction, and expressive voice for performance
• Movement & Physicality: developing expressive, intentional stage movement and exploring physical characterisation
• Confidence & Performance Skills: presenting work and receiving constructive feedback, and taking creative risks in a supportive environment

Age group: 10-13 years old (please note this is based on age, not school year)

End of Day Performance

Time: 3pm

Students will perform their Christmas Play at the end of the day for family and friends!
