DRAMA and MUSICAL THEATRE 2 DAY WORKSHOP: Ages 6-9 HORNSBY

Workshop Combo: Drama & Musical Theatre!
Sing, Dance, Act and share it all in a special performance for family and friends!
In this 2-day workshop, students will work with a professional performer and teaching artist to develop stage skills, build confidence, and create a fun performance to share with family and friends at the end of Day 2.
Day 1: Musical Theatre
Skills we will build together:
- Singing: develop rhythm, breath work, diction, and vocal clarity and confidence
- Dancing: explore movement, coordination, and expression through fun choreography.
- Acting: build stage presence, explore characterisation and find the story through the music
- Ensemble awareness: learn how to work as part of a group by singing, moving, and acting together.
Day 2: Drama & Devising a Performance
Skills we will build together:
- Imagination: unlock creativity through character exploration and storytelling.
- Focus & teamwork: strengthen listening and collaboration with engaging drama exercises.
- Devising: work together to create an original short play or musical to share with others.
- Performance skills: rehearse and present confidently in front of family and friends.
By the end of the workshop, students will have developed valuable stage skills, grown in creativity and confidence, and experienced the joy of sharing a performance with an audience.
Class Details:
Age group: 6-9 years old (please note this is based on age, not school year)
Venue: Storey Park Community Centre, 12 Old Berowra Rd, Hornsby, NSW
Dates: Thursday 9th - Friday 10th October 2025
Time: 9:30am - 4pm, daily
Performance
Time: 3:30pm*
Students will demonstrate their new and improved skills in a showing at the end of the 2nd day for family and friends! The environment will be very informal and encouraging!
