Weekly drama classes for new and continuing students

Learn to act, create and perform. Develop creativity, confidence and collaboration through drama. 

Every week, students work with a professional Teaching Artist to build acting, performance and creative skills, whilst also developing a deeper understanding of the world and of themselves.

K-3 class focus is: Storytelling through Performance

Our K-3 classes discover the art of storytelling through performance. Together they explore and create using their bodies, voice and imaginations. The students build their confidence and creative expression whilst developing their performance skills through improvisation, devising and retelling of stories.

No experience necessary.

Class components:

• Introduction to the elements of drama and storytelling
• Discover elements of theatre and performance
• Use creative and investigative thinking to create characters and scenes
• Create and stage stories using dramatic skills
• Working with others and collaboration skills
• Using your voice and body - confidence, diction, projection, body awareness

Class Details

DAY       Tuesdays, 3-4pm, one class a week

LOCATION Asquith Public School, 3 Dudley St, Asquith, Sydney - this class accepts students both at Asquith Public School and from other schools

2025 MSTYP Semester 2 dates

Term 3: Tuesday 29th July - Tuesday 16th September (8 classes)

Term 4: Tuesday 21st October - Tuesday 9th December

End of Year Showcase: Saturday 13th December (students will be allocated a performance time slot at the start at term 4)

End of Year Showcase

MSTYP will be bringing together all of our drama classes for an end of year sharing to showcase our wonderful young people!

Date: Saturday 13th December

Location: Ku-Ring-Gai Town Hall, 1186 Pacific Highway, Pymble

Time: TBC (a performance time slot will be allocated for this class and will be confirmed at the start of term 4)

Not available at this time? Don't worry! You can still enrol - our experienced Teaching Artists will ensure your young person will build the skills ready to perform, even though they won't be present for the actual performance, and performance preparation will only take up a small portion of the class.

Cost

TERM:                                   $205 for 8 weeks

SEMESTER                          $389.50 for 16 weeks (with 5% discount)

TRIAL CLASSES:                 $25
