Our beloved Make A Play Holiday Workshop has a new 2 full day format!

In this 2 day workshop, students will work with fellow young people and an industry Teaching Artist to create a brand new play, based on their own self devised superhero! There will be a performance on the afternoon of day two!

Course Components

• Acting skills – characterisation, listening and reacting
• Characterisation - building a character from scratch, discovering their back story and unique voice and movement
• Storytelling – story arc, story building,
• Stagecraft – spacial awareness on stage
• Collaboration / group work / ensemble building
• Vocal techniques – the basics of voice projection, diction and clarity
• Movement skills – introduction to stage physicality and movement
• Confidence building through performance in a fun and safe environment 

Class Details

Age group: School Years 4-6 in 2025

Venue: Storey Park Community Centre, 12 Old Berowra Rd, Hornsby, NSW

Date: Tuesday 28th - Wednesday 29th January 2025

Time: 9:30am - 4pm daily

Short Performance on Wednesday

The performance will be between 15-20 minutes. This will happen in the last hour on the Wednesday, with the exact time to be confirmed during the week. Please note that photography and videography of the performance is prohibited.

1. comfortable clothing to move about in

3. a healthy snack (no nuts please), avoiding the use of disposable packaging.
