Drama ACCESS for High School Students

This is an accessible drama class for up to 8 young people in school years 7-12, who are living with an intellectual disability. Participate with others in a fun, inclusive and creative environment with drama exercises and improvisation games that give young people an outlet for their creative expression, build confidence and develop communication skills.

The course will culminate in a short performance for family and friends at the end of each semester.

AGE: Students in School Years 7-12

DAY: Wednesdays

TIME: 4:30-5:30pm

2024 MSTYP Term dates

Term 1: Monday 5th February – Monday 8th April

Term 2: Monday 6th May – Monday 1st July (Kings Birthday Mon 10th June)

Term 3: Monday 29th July – Saturday 21st September

Term 4: Monday 21st October – Saturday 14th December

Note that MSTYP classes begin in week 2 of the school term

No experience necessary

TRIAL CLASSES: You are very welcome to trial this class in the first 3 weeks of the term. Please call the office to arrange.

New Students

We welcome new students into the accessible class, however as this is a specialised class for students with specific requirements we encourage parents and carers to give us a call before enrolling online on 9880 2356 or email info@mstyp.org.au and we will call you back.

Performances

We hold an open class at the end of Term 2, and at the end of Term 4 we gather for an informal performance.

Cost

TERM: $200 for 8 classes (Term 1)

TRIAL CLASS: $25 (available in first 3 weeks of term only)
